No one needs to lie.
The world is already dark enough.
Artists Against exists to make it a little less dark by putting real experiences on the record.
So be authentic. Be honest. Tell your own story, in your own words, as accurately as you can.
No rumours. No “my friend's manager's cousin told me.” No adding a little extra spice because the original story wasn't dramatic enough.
What happened is enough.
This may become public
If your story is approved and published, it may be read by anyone. That means it can be shared, screenshotted, quoted, discussed and travel much further than this website.
Before you submit, think carefully about names, companies, exact dates, venues, project names, contract details, private messages, and anything that could identify you or somebody else.
You do not need to name someone for your experience to matter. Our moderators may also edit or redact identifying details before publication.
And yes, we know some people may not like this
At some point, a powerful person or corporation may discover Artists Against and decide they really, really don't enjoy reading The Record.
They may complain. They may threaten us. They may pressure us. They may try to pressure you. They may even try to make this platform disappear.
We know.
Artists Against is designed to collect as little identifying information as reasonably necessary, and we will not hand contributor information to someone simply because they demand it or send an intimidating email.
But we also won't make promises we cannot guarantee. No online platform can promise that information could never be accessed, compromised or legally required to be disclosed. If we ever receive a valid legal demand, we will handle it carefully, disclose no more than we are required to, and follow our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
The less unnecessary information we collect in the first place, the less there is to expose.
One more thing
We are not lawyers. We are not a court. We are not law enforcement. And publishing a story on Artists Against does not mean Artists Against has determined that another person or company did something wrong.
We are people who believe experiences should not disappear simply because speaking about them is uncomfortable.
If something happened to you, tell us what happened.

What happens to your words
- 01It arrives with no name attached, and nothing about it is public.
- 02A person reads it against the submission guidelines.
- 03Identifying information may be redacted, and a story that names a person or a company goes to enhanced review first.
- 04If it is approved for publication it appears on The Record under its Artists Against reference — and you can ask for it to be corrected or withdrawn afterwards.
