The house engineer was me, unpaid, for a year

I mixed front of house at a two hundred capacity venue in Manchester for about a year. The arrangement was that I got a fee if the night made money, and the nights, I was always told, never made money.

The bar took over a thousand pounds on some of those nights. I know because I helped cash up.
