I was charged for the photographer who shot my album cover

The advance felt like the biggest number I had ever seen. Nobody explained clearly that it was recoupable, that the video was recoupable, that the photographer, the radio plugger, the press agent and half the marketing were recoupable too.

Six years later I am still unrecouped, which means every stream I generate pays down a debt for services I did not choose, at rates I never saw quoted.
